Experiencing unexpected yet inevitable life changes may create feelings ranging from exhilaration to paralysis. A new career opportunity or promotion with eligibility for stock options offers a celebratory opportunity, which also calls for creative tax and retirement planning. Conversely, a serious health diagnosis may call for thoughtful review and possible revision of existing plans. Because it is impossible to separate emotional response from significant life events, Resonate’s understanding of the intersection between the emotional, psychological and financial facilitates clear decision-making in the midst of life’s complexity.

If the life change is unplanned and difficult, Resonate offers a proven process in which we shift our primary focus to define clients’ new and immediate priorities.  Through shared conversation, we then work together to create thoughtful solutions. In the midst of what sometimes can be very scary circumstances, we offer both emotional support and solid recommendations so that clients and their friends and families successfully navigate this unplanned place in life.

Our experience teaches us to know what questions to ask and when to ask them, as well as what questions to avoid. This same experience teaches us the importance of affiliating with other professionals who offer additional services and resources which complement ours.

Answer: The “When Life Shifts” conversation begins with whatever is occurring in the life of the client. For example, this might include the loss of a job, a divorce, an unexpected career opportunity which involves relocation or complex family situations. While financial planning may be needed eventually, it is usually not the starting point.

Answer: Because experience teaches us that we often provide the most value when we can serve as an anchor for others experiencing major life changes.

In addition to offering solid financial planning credentials, we are skilled at listening and have intentionally created vast resources and connections for further support.

Answer: As opposed to a “cost,” we prefer to think about this as an opportunity for people to make an investment in themselves. Rates are billed hourly and are fully disclosed during the first conversation.
