The inspiration for Resonate’s values-based financial planning began in 1980 when Barb Culver entered the financial services business. In 1985 she co-founded an agency to meet the planning and investing needs of the Cincinnati area. From the beginning, a strong sense of compassion and service motivated Barb to look beyond products to the challenges facing her clients.

While developing all-encompassing life insurance strategies, Barb realized this involved planning life goals along with integrative life planning. To serve her clients at the highest level, along with her Chartered Life Underwriter® (CLU) designation, Barb gained accreditations as a Chartered Financial Consultant® (ChFC), Certified Financial Planner (CFP), and Accredited Estate Planner® (AEP).

Over the years, Barb has expanded Resonate with a group of professionals who help people grow wealth and well-being. The Resonate team follows the highest standards for financial planners, registered investment advisors, insurance providers, and estate and legacy planners. This includes on-going training, accreditations, and insurance and securities licenses.

The evolution of Resonate also includes outreach in other areas. For example, Resonate offers access to highly regarded investment, accounting, and legal professionals to help resolve challenges that may affect our clients’ wealth and well-being. In addition, Resonate offers training, consulting, and speaker resources to Not-for-Profit organizations. Our areas of specialty include board training, tangible and intangible aspects of giving, customized educational programs for women donors, and motivational programs for donors.

Clients in the Northern Kentucky-Cincinnati-Dayton corridor appreciate the personalized service and proximity to Resonate advisors. The firm also has attracted attention outside of southwest Ohio with a national presence and practice. This is the result of a unique, relational purposeful planning approach that emphasizes the core life values of Resonate clients, as well as acknowledged expertise in the following specialties:

  • Issues of aging, such as dementia and diminished capacity directives
  • Intergenerational planning, including family succession planning and family legacy planning
  • Transformational philanthropy
